What you are buying, and what happens if something goes wrong

Northstarself provides self-reflection assessments and written reports. It is not a clinical, diagnostic, medical, or employment service, and no result here is a professional evaluation of you.

Nothing on this site may be used to make hiring, promotion, admission, custody, clinical, or other consequential decisions about any person, including yourself. Several of the instruments used here state their own reliability limits on the page where they appear; those statements are part of these terms.

Every assessment, every result summary, and the public type library are free, with no account required. The optional advanced report for a completed result is a one-time purchase of $24.

A purchase unlocks one advanced report for one completed result. Each assessment is bought separately. Retaking an assessment produces a new result, which is a separate purchase; your original purchase keeps working for the result it was bought for.

Advanced reports are digital content delivered in full the moment payment completes, so a purchase is not generally refundable once the report has opened. The report's contents, section list, and price are shown before checkout so you can see what you are buying.

Email support@northstarself.com from the address you used at checkout if any of the following applies, and a refund will be issued:

• ✦You were charged but the report never became available to you.
• ✦A technical fault prevents you from opening or downloading a report you paid for, and support cannot resolve it.
• ✦You were charged more than once for the same report.
• ✦The report was materially not what this site described it to be.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe and usually appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. A refunded purchase revokes access to that advanced report and its PDF; anything already downloaded is yours to keep. Nothing here limits the statutory rights described below.

Advanced reports are digital content delivered immediately after payment. Under EU and UK consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase, but that right is lost for digital content once delivery begins with your express consent.

The checkout form asks you to confirm that you want immediate access and that you understand the 14-day withdrawal right ends when the report opens. Your statutory rights where the content is faulty, misdescribed, or never delivered are unaffected by that confirmation, and nothing in the refund policy above reduces them.

Report access is recorded in this browser so it works with no account. That means clearing site data, switching browsers, or using a new device will lose local access.

To make a purchase recoverable, sign in on the Profile page with the same email you used at checkout and use Restore purchases. Northstarself keeps a purchase record with a hash of that email, the Stripe session, the assessment, and the compact result needed to rebuild the report. You can delete those restore copies at any time from the Profile page; deleting them ends the ability to restore, and the underlying Stripe transaction record remains for accounting and dispute purposes.

• ✦Do not resell, redistribute, or publish the paid report content as your own product.
• ✦Do not use automated tools to bulk-generate results, reports, or checkout sessions.
• ✦Do not present any Northstarself result as a clinical assessment or an employment screen.
• ✦You may share your own result link and PDF freely, including with a coach, therapist, or friend.

Northstarself is provided as-is, without a guaranteed uptime commitment. Report content is versioned and may be improved over time; a purchase entitles you to the current version of the report for your result, including later improvements to it, for as long as the site operates.

If these terms change, the change applies to purchases made after the updated date below. It does not retroactively change the refund policy for a purchase you already made.
